Hane Press offers affordable custom screen printing services. Creative print jobs on paper, cardstock, and simple garments are our focus. We are not a large commercial printer, and we therefore stay away from large volume commercial merchandise. If you have a need for unique printing of the more creative type, then we'd love to work for you.  There is no minimum order, and we especially love taking on small projects that other printers won’t handle.

  • special event posters, e.g art exhibits, concerts, and other special events

You can get started by requesting a quote for your project via our form. The more defined your project is, the more accurate our quote will be. Please note:

  • We reserve the right to request a 50% deposit prior to printing. Any remaining payments are due before delivery.
  • Our standard turn-around time is 14-16 business days from the time all supplies are ordered and final print-ready files have been approved.
  • We review images to determine if they are appropriate for print at no charge. We offer up to 30 minutes of complimentary file prep with each project but any needs that exceed this are subject to additional charges to be agreed upon beforehand.
  • We are able to handle most design work in-house, and would love to bring our ideas to your project.

Price overview for custom printing

Screen setup fee (per color/layer):
Example: A 3-color design requires 3 separate screens, which means a 3x screen setup fee. The fee is the same regardless of the print medium.

Run fee (per color/layer):
The run fee covers the required ink, labor, print passes, & curing, and is based on the number of items X the number of colors for each. Run fees are slightly higher for apparel printing due to the additional time and and costs related to curing inks. We include volume discounts for both paper and apparel printing. Small orders under 12 items have higher run fees due to low volume.

  • 1-11 items: base price +20% due to low volume
  • 12-47 items: 0% discount (base price)
  • 48-71 items: 6% discount
  • 72-144 items: 10% discount
  • 145+ items: 14% discount

Material cost:
Paper/cardstock costs depend on the chosen print size, type, quality & weight (gsm).
Apparel costs depend on the chosen garment.

Screen setup fee (all mediums):

Run fee for Paper - per color/layer:
10 dkk

Run fee for Apparel - per color/layer:
40 dkk

Paper/Cardstock cost:
Prices depend on the desired paper quality and weight.
As an example, our standard paper (Munken Pure & Munken Lynx) prices are:

  • A2+ 300 gsm - 6 DKK/ sheet
  • A3+ 300 gsm - 3 DKK/sheet
  • A4 300 gsm - 2 DKK/sheet
  • A5 300 gsm - 1 DKK/sheet

Apparel cost:
Varies between 40-100 DKK per unit for normal apparel

About screen printing/serigraphy

Screen printing is a traditional, hands-on method that pushes ink through a mesh screen using a stencil. Each color requires a separate screen and layer of ink, making it a multi-step process ideal for bold, graphic images—but it can also be adapted for subtle, tonal designs using fine mesh and halftone techniques. It’s commonly used on paper for artworks, posters, flyers, and invitations, or on fabric for totes, t-shirts, and garments. The result is a print with rich colors, sharp edges, and a slightly raised, tactile surface known for its durability and ability to produce vivid and nuanced images.

Unlike digital or offset printing, silkscreen printing is stencil-based, where each color is added in a separate layer, and is known for its vibrant, saturated colors and distinctive, handmade aesthetic. Our process uses water-based inks and prints in layers, often resulting in slight misregistrations between colors that contribute to its charming, imperfect look. The prints have a flat, matte finish, with ink sitting on the surface of uncoated, absorbent paper, which enhances the tactile quality of the work.
